The Challenger Fellowships are awarded to early career scientists who are members of the Challenger Society to recognise and honour their achievement or promise in a branch of marine science.
The Challenger-Woodward Fellowship is awarded to a promising early career-stage marine scientist who is carrying out research in the field of Nutrients and Nutrient Cycling in the Oceans.
Winning one of these fellowships can be a fantastic boost for an ECR, so do have a think about who you would like to put forward for an award! Please go to our website to find out more and to make your nomination: https://challenger-society.org.uk/awards-and-grants/challenger-ecr-fellowships/
The deadline for nominations is April 20th 2026.
The Challenger Society has a small nominations committee who will also be proactively seeking nominations of ECRs from diverse backgrounds. If you have any suggestions, or if you would like to serve on the Challenger Society nominations committee, please don’t hesitate to email Kate (kathen@bas.ac.uk).
