The Challenger Society for Marine Science (CSMS) are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to support our community of ocean scientists and innovators. CSMS are looking for a new Council member to fill the Special Interest Group (SIG) Portfolio.
The role of the SIG Portfolio holder is to:
- Act as the liaison between the different SIGs and CSMS Council
- Manage the SIG budget and allocation of funds for SIG meetings (after CSMS Council approval)
- Ensure that the information that CSMS holds about the SIGs is correct
- Act as first port of call for any queries or communications about the SIGs
- Review status of SIGs, including those no longer active and new proposals
- Link with other portfolio holders as required e.g. for publication of meeting reports in Ocean Challenge or website updates
The usual term for Council members is three years.
